The 21st graduation class / Jahrgang 21 of the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie invites to the final exhibition in the Funkhaus Nalepastraße Berlin. Shown are 23 final works that have emerged in the past three and a half years.

The projects range from documentary long-term researches over personal photographic essays up to conceptual, staged and experimental works. Together they open up different perspectives on a present that is shaped by political, ecological, technological and societal changes. The works lead into Iran, into Ukraine, to Egypt, Norway, Sitges and Poland as well as to the Oder, into former GDR planned cities, into Swiss football stadiums, forests, family houses and industrial landscapes.

They occupy themselves with war and displacement, family and memory, queer life realities, the aftermaths of the German reunification, communities and landscapes in change as well as with the question how images shape our imagination of identity, history and present. The exhibition assembles 23 independent photographic positions that connect personal stories with societal developments and show how diversely photography is deployed today as an artistic medium.
