The exhibition presents the graduation projects of six photographers from the 19th and 20th classes of the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie Berlin – the photography school of the renowned Berlin agency Ostkreuz, which is internationally known for its sophisticated and committed documentary approach.
Through personal perspectives and distinct visual languages, Jan Kraus, Simone Nathalie Fuchs, Ida Weber, Sarah Jade Sullivan, Lukas Städler, and Cem Öztok examine social realities, contemporary identities, as well as intimate and social spaces. Each photographer is assigned an individual exhibition room, allowing for an intensive engagement with their work and a complete immersion into the respective projects.
The exhibition is organized by Achtung Kultur!, an association based in Bordeaux dedicated to promoting German culture and cultural exchange between France and Germany. Through film screenings, exhibitions, encounters, and lectures, Achtung Kultur! highlights German-speaking culture from various perspectives, aiming to spark curiosity and promote mutual understanding. At the same time, the association increases the visibility of Franco-German actors, supports their projects, and networks their initiatives.
By inviting these young photographers from the Ostkreuzschule, Achtung Kultur! underscores its commitment to contemporary artistic positions and European cultural dialogue, offering the public a unique opportunity to discover new voices in the German photography scene.
The exhibition is held as part of the 3rd “Mois de la Photo” Bordeaux, organized by Achtung Kultur! with the support of the Goethe-Institut Paris.
