In a world of escalating political crises, the growing climate emergency, and the daily reality of social inequality and the suffering of minorities, the prospect of a better life faces boundaries and contradictions deeply rooted in human history. Through modernization, humanity destroys much; through innovation, it strives to repair that very damage. This is the paradox explored by the artists invited to Fotohaus Bordeaux 2026 as part of the Month of Photography Bordeaux.

Their diverse photographic narratives reveal the concrete actions of people who, with commitment and devotion, confront the darkness and horrors flooding our lives. Through these stories, the goal is to highlight the various forms of resistance and resilience that make it possible to overcome apocalyptic conditions and re-enchant the world. Just as new greenery grows from scorched earth, may we seize the chance to realize our vision of tolerance, inclusion, environmental protection, and reconstruction—for a world that is both livable and vibrant.
