The Affordable Art Fair returns to Berlin Treptow from April 16 – 19, 2026. With international art diversity and an expanded program, it aims to once again bring the joy of art collecting to the capital and inspire a Berlin audience with its accessible art experience. To this end, it will gather 65 galleries from 18 countries at Arena Berlin this spring. Under the motto “Art for All,” national and international exhibitors will present works by established art world figures and exciting new talents over four days. The unique aspect: all exhibited works are priced between €100 and €10,000. The fair is organized by Ramsay Fairs, one of the world’s largest and most successful art fair companies, with 15 fairs annually and over 250,000 visitors.

☆ PiE has the pleasure to give away 3 × 2 tickets for the Affordable Art Fair 2026! Simply drop us a line with the subject “AAF26”! First come, first served.

Art Collecting for Beginners

The combination of transparent pricing and a relaxed atmosphere is designed to make starting your first collection straightforward, especially for newcomers. At the heart of the Affordable Art Fair is a vibrant, open art experience designed to break down barriers and demystify art buying. The supporting program, focusing on the theme “How to Start Collecting Art,” offers additional support. In addition to the popular Under €1000 wall, which demonstrates that acquiring high-quality art is possible even on a smaller budget, free guided tours are offered daily to help visitors navigate the fair. Tips on collecting art will be shared on Saturday at 3 p.m. during the Collectors Talk with fair director Oliver Lähndorf, gallerist Steve Uhlig (Uhlig Gallery), and Dr. Anna Schwan.

A Family-Friendly Art Experience Instead of an Elitist Art Scene

“From the very beginning, the goal of the Affordable Art Fairs has been to break down the barriers of the art world and open doors that are usually closed to many,” explains fair director Oliver Lähndorf. “Whether you’re buying an original artwork for the first time or expanding your collection, our focus remains on the passion for the artwork itself, not on prior knowledge of the art market. We consciously aim to be a democratizing counter-movement to the still-prevailing elitism in the art world. That’s why we offer a curated selection of top-tier galleries, but in an environment that is inviting rather than intimidating. The joy of discovery is at the heart of our fair, offering a vibrant art experience for everyone.”

International Art Diversity at Arena Berlin

Amidst the impressive industrial architecture of Arena Berlin, the Affordable Art Fair presents a wide range of contemporary works in painting, sculpture, printmaking, and photography. The gallery selection follows the concept of local roots and international diversity: In addition to 15 galleries from Berlin, 11 Spanish exhibitors form a key focus of the exhibition space this year, including Pigment Gallery, Galeria Rodrigo Juarranz, and Galeria Sergi Sánchez. Berlin-based representatives include artnow Gallery, ATM Gallery Berlin, and fineart Berlin. For the first time this year, AI art will also be featured at the fair, presented by Guelmann & Unbekannt, a gallery specializing in digital art. Other program highlights include internationally renowned galleries such as the Spanish Pigment Gallery, Berlin’s BBA Gallery, and the Japanese Systema Gallery. Works by emerging talents like Christoph Kera Hinz, Jurena Munroz, and Nico Sawatzki will be shown alongside pieces by established artists such as Patty Carroll, Juan Escudero, and Christoph Rode.

Berlin Emerging Artists in a Curated Special Exhibition

The Affordable Art Fair’s democratic approach also includes supporting local and regional emerging artists. The “Emerging Artists” exhibition, curated by Hannah Weber-Heidenfels, puts young talents in the spotlight each year, facilitating their often challenging entry into the art market. This year, artist Bella Bram, among others, will be given a broad platform in this special format. Inspired by the animal world, Bram’s works combine the characteristics of insects and snails with architectural elements, artistically exploring moments of in-betweenness.

Immerse yourself in an art experience: Pool Painting installation in the entrance area

Berlin-based artist Christoph “Kera” Hinz has also been invited to develop a site-specific, water-filled installation for the hall’s entrance area. It will be the second work in his “Pool Painting” series, which is based on the idea of the painting as a pool. A plastic sheet designed by the artist will be flooded with 2,300 liters of water, serving as the floor of a roughly 23-square-meter water basin. The full dynamic of the artwork unfolds in interaction with visitors who are permitted to enter the space. Kera’s work is part of the participatory process. He has already realized numerous murals in public spaces and public art projects worldwide, and site-specific works by him can also be found in Berlin.

Children’s Painting Wall and Other Highlights

A popular highlight returns on April 16th from 5 pm to 10 pm, offering a relaxed evening in a creative atmosphere with music and drinks. Families are especially welcome this year: A specially discounted ticket and a children’s painting wall, inspired by Joseph Albers’ “Homage to the Square,” invite parents to explore the fair’s program with their children.
