Arena – Take 1: Facing the Spectacle by Sebastian Wells is a critical examination of the Olympic Games and the media mechanisms behind this global mass spectacle. In contrast to traditional portrayals of the Olympics—typically centered on triumph, nationalism, and outstanding athletic achievement—Wells reveals the structures of the Olympic narrative and the systems of global attention it generates.
Sebastian Wells, born in 1996 in Königs Wusterhausen, is a Berlin-based photographer, a member of the OSTKREUZ agency, and co-founder of Solomiya magazine.
