The starting point for Roger Eberhard’s new body of work is the idea that history is not a chronological line of events, but rather a multitude of events happening simultaneously.

Roger Eberhard explains: ‚To create this series, I reached out to 20 friends and colleagues living across 20 different countries and six continents. I asked them what they believed were the 12 most important historical events of the past 300 years. The events that were mentioned most frequently became the starting point for „Meanwhile“. For each of these pivotal dates, for example July 14 1789, the French Revolution, or September 11 2001, I researched a lesser- known story that occurred on the same day. The accounts I chose in this process varied widely – some were monumental in their own right, others were fleetingly known before being forgotten, and one might have held significance for just a single individual.‘

Works by Roger Eberhard (*1984, CH) are exhibited internationally and found in important collections, both public and private. Former book publications include ‚Human Territoriality‘ (Edition Patrick Frey, Zürich, 2020) and ‚Escapism‘ (Images Vevey Books, 2023). The book to the series ‚Meanwhile‘ is published by Morel Books, London. Roger Eberhard lives and works in Stallikon, Switzerland.
