Over the course of a year, John Kolya Reichart has been travelling, meeting people, listening to them and capturing their portraits. Each person photographed suggests the next, creating a continuous chain of encounters. The first part of the exhibition features forty people, connected by proximity, affinity or curiosity. In the second part, they talk about their everyday lives, about upheavals, hopes and new perspectives. The result is a multifaceted portrait of Schöneberg – one that reveals just how diverse the neighbourhood is and how its stories are intertwined. A chain inviting discovery and continuation.
The voices of the people portrayed can be heard via QR codes – using your own smartphone or the playback devices on site. A publication has been released to accompany the exhibition and is available at the museum.
